My first disapointment. went out this morning to wash just the wheels, chrome oem's, and discovered the chrome cleaned up nice but the inside is very rough and not finished , not even painted. This doesnt look good on a car with open wheels. My first thought was factory glich, but all four wheels are the same. Has anybody on the forum painted the inside or tried polishing? If theres another thread that deals with a fix, please direct me.

I'm glad you posted this. My vert is a little over a month old. Tho, I'd been washing her 3 times a week, I hadn't paid much attention to the wheels. There's a show today, so yesterday I got ready to individually detail each wheel. Much to my surprise, I found exactly the same thing. I was so pizzed that I called a friend/saleman, only to get the response that he'd never looked that close.
I just got my chromed oem wheels from West Coast Corvette. I am extremely happy with the wheels and the service. They are triple chrome on the outside, and nicely chromed on the inside. Guaranteed for three years. Come with center caps, lug nuts, and locks.
These wheels are GM oem wheels that have been exchanged for chrome wheels. Basically you order the chrome wheels from WCC, they FedEx them to you, you put your exchange wheels in the original boxes, and send them back to WCC. They will give you a $1,200 core deposit credit upon receipt of your wheels after inspection.
Hope to have them mounted Monday. I was not an initial fan of chrome wheels, but on the C6 I think they are great.

UPDATE; I stopped by the body shop were I use to work many years ago, same guys still there, lots of good memories. I got the painters to take a look at the inside of the wheels for me. There is a coating of some kind on the inside, they thinks its probably for aluminium porosity. They told me they could be painted but they would not be as shiny as the inside of my C5 polished wheels, unless we sand and polish them. In other words a whole lota work. I just got my car four days ago, and Im not ready to take it off the road, I am having way too much fun.

This is one of the reasons I have held off buying the Chrome Wheels. I have been trying to decide the best place to get them. Been talking with House of Wheels, and they offer a great exchange price, but am thinking their wheels are like these, and I don't want them if they are.

Well let me set your mind at ease. I have bought them from Bob and they are chromed all over and look very good. Second set of wheels from Bob and I have no complaints.

Well, thank you Gary, did you get the GM ones or the reproductions?

You are in luck today Bill, I have all the info. LOL, I have owned both, I had repo's for the C5 and OEM chromed for the C6. Both were very nice wheels and a descent price. I took delivery within 1 week also which is unheard of in the vette aftermarket arena.
The repo's were a little too heavy, that is why I went with OEM this time. I also just ended up keeping my painted wheels instead of trading them in. I am thinking about having them widened and chromed for future use.
The chromed OEM wheels are a little under 2 lbs per wheel heavier than painted. My experience with repo's are more like 4-7 lbs heavier.
Edit: when I say OEM chromed here I am talking about painted OEM wheels that have been chromed.
I have the same situation. I've been looking for a good brush to fit in there and clean them up with.
Here is a thread from the car care section here http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...ighlight=brush
I bought one simillar locally by Meguiares, it is only 15 inches including handle, the bristles are only 10 inches. I haven't opened it yet and am thinking the blue one in the other thread would be better.
