So I jump into my '06 Coupe this morning to head to work and the DIC gives me a "Service Vehicle Soon" message. There was not a CEL, just the DIC message. Car sounded fine but I shut it down, popped the hood, and checked all the fluids. Everything checked out fine. The tires were a little low (28psi) so I aired them up. Fired her up and again, the same DIC message.
It wouldn't give me any more info so I decided to drive it and see if I could hear or feel anything. Backing out of my driveway I noticed the power steering was gone. I double checked the garage (no puddle) and reservoir (sitting right at the "Cold Full" line). I only have 5,800 miles on this thing.
I have an appointment at the dealer tomorrow morning but wanted to throw this out to see if anyone else has had this problem.
Prior to this morning everything was fine. I do get the rough steering at very low rpms as others have noticed but like others here just assumed the revs were too low and the pump was creating enough pressure.
First thing that came to my mind was maybe you had thrown your serpentine belt, but I guess you would have noticed that right? Other than that I can't recall any other obvious problem. Be sure to let us know.
THERE IS A RECALL FOR P/S HOSE FAILURE..
MAY BE PART OF THAT..

If the hose had failed, why would the reservoir be full? Sounds like something different, plus the recall was for older cars in 2005, his was built in May of 2006.
You may want to unlock your Cap button on your computer keyboard. It appears you are screaming.
Update. Went to run an errand this afternoon and everything functioned perfectly. I HATE intermittent problems.
I'll keep my appointment w/ the dealer tomorrow morning - maybe it has something to do w/ being cold (though I try to take my vehicles in to shops as little has possible). Or my garage has Gremlins...
