Default Odd problem with Ignition Button

Parked my coupe with the windows down, top on, and the mirror lights would not go off, and the green ignition light would not go off. Started it up, stopped it, several times after checking to make certain that all three doors were closed.

Can't figure why the engine firing green lit button would stay illuminated. Went out for a few hours, and it and the lights are off. Haven't checked to see if the battery is dead yet.

Anyone have this problem, and is it related to locking the vehicle with the windows open? Only 80 miles on the car, although so far it is a blast to drive.

Possible case of your knee hitting the interior light button down and to the left of the steering wheel? If thats what happened don't worry I think most all of us have done that a time or two

Be sure the map light buttons are pushed in to turn them off, then press & release the button described above that is normally used to dim the dash lights. The green light stayed lit to let you know other circuits were active.

Similar issue.... I have noticed that if I hold the stop engine button for a second or two things shut down nicely. This is a bit of a change from my 05 C6. Try holding the button in for a bit longer. Not sure if it will help but mine did the same thing until I realized it was just a different animal. (from my other C6)

Could be.... others are right, be careful of the light button on the left. My family thinks I am strange for standing in the garage door until I see the dome lights go off....they don't know that's what I am doing so, I guess it does look a little vain.

My 07 has 350 miles and still bonding to him.

Cheers and here's a wave for you.....

If it's an A6 make sure the tranny is in Park.

At fewer than 750 miles on my car I've done several things that I've had to sit and "ponder" out:
Ignition switch remaining green - more than once
Acc. not switching to off position
Accidentally triggering horn with fob in pocket - twice
Mirror lights remaining on
Auto volume control not working on radio
Switching to vent fans from AC - AC not switching

There's likely something else, but off the top of my head I think those cover it for now: all were "operator errors."

This is my 5th Corvette, though, my first C6.

My panic horn sets off also sometimes with my FOB in my pocket.

My main problem is the NO FOB present deal. The cure for this by the way is to put the FOB in your left pocket, not the right one.

As everJeff said, check the dash control light switch to left of steering wheel, it has two push positions (in addition to rotate). One push position will keep your mirror lights on no matter how you try to set the individual mirror light switches...I think no time-out but not sure. The other position times-out normally after shut-down. Make sure you or someone else didn't accidently push it.

Damn...that's the trick. I've gotta try that. I get that triple beep all the time, especially when I don't want to attract any attention.

Yea that button gave me huge headaches, I had accidently bumped it after having my stereo system installed and thought they had messed up wiring somehow rofl. Scared me to death then I found a post on the forum about it and all was well.
