I don't disconnect, but I'm a fan of battery tenders.

Battery Tender Plus - a must have for anyone who stores their Corvette for the winter, or, in the case of the C6, let's the car sit for anymore than a week at a time without starting.

Connect to the BT and forget about it until spring.

BT quick connect installed to battery so I just back it in the garage, connect the plug, and walk away. I don't "store" it for the winter but in the winter it can sit for a month or more without me driving it. I take it out on the nice days though.

I have a battery tender on my bike plus battery tender plus' for the C6, C1(disconnect lead on this one), boat batts., wife's MR-2 and never had a problem. Don't buy one of the cheapie units from the local big box store.
