Anybody have the little plastic latch hook break off? Can you replace this latch without replacing the whole console?

Yes, I had the exact same problem. I ordered a leather covered console, when it arrived the spring loaded lever was broken. They wanted my factory vinyl one as a "core" I simply switched out the latch/spring/lever. It's very easy, remove the little torx screws on the bottom black plastic, the keep then top side on the console on the floor. Take a look at how it's in there so you can install the same way. It's a little spring over a plastic spindle. It's very easy.
