Long tube headers with high flow cats will usually pass the sniff test in Calif. The corner smog stations don't lift it to check for CARB numbers or cat location. My experience is that for the visual inspection, they look for obvious violations like missing/ disconnected smog lines or pumps, and things like valve cover breathers. In Calif. you won't have to get it smogged for six years.
