Default How to turn off Navigation System while...

driving? The "lady" still keeps talking to me even when I have turned off the radio and then turned it back on. There must be a way to exit the Navigation while driving. Thanks for the help.

You have to turn her off in "Guidance Volume" other wise she will keep talking.

You can "Cancel Guidance" to delete the route and destination, or set the guidance volume to "Off" which keeps the route but silences the navchick.

What option makes her talk X-rated to you?

If you are not actually trying to navigate a route, hit the VR button and say "Cancel Guidance"

If you are following a route and just do not want the irritating voice, hit the VR button and say "Voice Guidance OFF". But if you do this you need to re-enable it again if you want her lovely voice back in the future. In that case, when you want it back, hit the VR button and say "Voice Guidance ON"

If she is talking it means that there is a destination set. It sounds as if you have an incomplete trip remaining. You can cancel guidance either via the menu or voice recognition "Cancel Guidance" or if you want to keep your route entered and just minimize her interaction with you then you can turn down the voice guidance volume via the menu or say softer (or louder) with voice recognition or you can say "Voice guidance off"

Obviously you are still under "route guidance" for this to occur (Destination entered but not yet arrived). You must cancel the "route guidance. To do this press the following buttons:

1. Press the Nav hard key
2. Then press Route Options
3. From this screen press the Cancel Guidance icon

Or you can use a Voice Command by:

1. Pressing the Voice Recognition Key (top most hard key)
2. Speak "Voice Guidance Off"

ALthough I did not ask the question, you have also answered a question that I have.

I picked up my car last month and have put her away for the year. At least in the spring, if I am able to remember it, I now have the answer as well.

It's in the Nav User's Manual. Maybe while your car is parked for the winter you could find some time to review the 64 page Nav User's Manual.

Tom had become quite the C6 expert in only a few months. If I need to know something about my C6, I email him first instead of calling my dealer shop. Sometimes they don't have a clue. So, "Tom, you da man!"
