Default Touchy Touchpad

My driver's side door touchpad will not open the door unless I unlock it first with the fob. Once I do, the door will open when I squeeze the pad. Passenger door and hatch open without manualy unlocking with the fob first. In the past, the driver's door would occasionally act up but not often. Now it won't react to the touchpad without manually unlocking with the fob. Is this a good enough reason to trade it in on a Z06 of should I just let the dealer fix it? Anybody have this problem?

The driver's side sense antenna is bad. It is just a wire. It is probably pinched. It is a pain in the butt to access and replace. Basically, the whole driver's side interior has to be gutted. Definitely time to buy one of the last Z06 Corvettes before they're replaced with the new supercharged SS.

Vette junkie,
I am having a similar problem but mine is the passenger door. I checked everything out today and even disconnected the negative terminal of the battery for couple of minutes. Mine will not open at all from the touch pad on the passenger side. I guess I'm dealer bound next week to see what the problem is. I hope it is just the touch pad and an easy fix. By the way mine is a 2005 Coupe MN6.

If the door won't open at all from the outside, when unlocked, it is most likely the touchpad switch. Very easy repair. If it won't open from either the inside button or the outside touch switch, then it is the striker solenoid, or the wiring. Slightly harder fix.
If neither door will open, it could be the BCM or the RCDLM, or it could just be a dead battery. (Trying to cover all bases here.)

I'd be curious to know what the dealer did to fix it. I'm ready to put the car away for the winter but I'll need to deal with this in the spring. A reply would be appreciated. Good luck at the dealer.
