It is one of the most fantastic experiences you can imagine. The delivery process is almost magical. From the time you get your TPW and can begin arranging your delivery with the Museum staff, through the tour at the factory, the walk through of your car, and the VIP tour of the museum, it is an incredible experience and highly recommended. The museum staff are some of the most genuinely pleasent and helpful people. They make you feel like you are the only one purchasing the greatest automobile made today. I took my wife and son and my wife said it was the only way to buy a car.
Best of all, when you have lived through all the anticipation, the thrill of seeing your car for the first time on display, the excitement when you press the start button for the first time, and the joy of seeing it in the sun out front, you suddenly realize that your drive home is actually in that car that you just spent the whole day learning about and gaining an appreciation of from a completely different view. You'll remember how you saw the marriage for frame to body, when you slide into the seats that you know how they slide them into the car, and when you you see that paint reflect the evenings glow, you'll think about the quality and care that went into the inspection.
And then you get to drive..... aware of the surroundings..... listening to the engine purr with authority..... drop her into gear and.......
I`m planing to buy a new Vette and I`m thinking about going with the museum delivery. I have read about how the plan works but I would like to here about it from someone that has went through the experience from start to end.
I`ve been told that you could watch your car being built, is that true?
I got the museum delivery on my 2006 Corvette. It is the best money you will ever spend. I would not even think about buying another Corvette without Museum Delivery.

I picked up my coupe last Monday at the museum. It was a fantastic experience from beginning to end. Just do it!
I have a different take. I picked my car up about 3 weeks ago. The detailing on the car was pathetic. Wax was burned into the rubber molding below the convertable top and into the rear center tail light housing. After 2 hours of hard rubbing with wax remover, I still haven't been able to correct their lack of knowledge about how to use a buffing machine. The experience was fun but like someone else posted on another thread, I will never let them near another one of my cars. Pictures are available.
We wouldn't do anything else. It was an absolutely teriffic experience. I would never get a vette without doing Museum delivery, again. When you get your car from a dealership, they haven't a clue on how to clean it up. You will get scratches and swirls that are difficult to get rid of. They know how to do it at the Museum. You won't find any nicer people than there. The people at the factory we so gracious. They thanked us many, many times. AN EXPERIENCE YOU WILL NEVER FORGET.
Highly recommend it. You have to order the Museum delivery as an option, R8C, from the dealer. Click below for my detailed account of the build and delivery.
I see there was one person that is not happy with the museum folks. I would have them take another shoot at correcting it before I left. Just as I was getting ready to leave with my car, an emplyee of the museum noticed one of the reverse lights was not working. They asked what I would like to do. They gave me two options: 1) They would give me something to give to my local dealer to have it fixed 2) They would drive it over to the assembley plant and have them make the fix before I left, with an estimation time of 30 minutes.
The museum staff was very much into the delivery of my car. It was like I was the only one there instead of all of us. The tour of the assembley plant was definitly a highlight and a great experience. All of the displays at the museum just added another level to it all. I would consider the NCM Delivery the only way to go. I brought my brother along and we both came away with a true great experience of a life time.
I have been very fortunate and have not experienced any dealer issues. I still love my VERT the same as when I saw it at the museum.
See signature...and previous Corvettes listing...3 x R8C's and counting...it has gotten better with each time.
Comparing the 3...
#1. 9 out of 10. Offsite dealer prep at Cave City was marginal (missed Black paint defect). Factory tour was about like public tour.
#2. 9.5 out of 10. Cave City strikes again with a missed paint defect (again - this time Pewter metallic and worse). Nothing memorable from factory tour, but behind the scenes at the NCM was better.
#3. Perfect 10. NCM prep was first class. Best factory tour to date. Best NCM tour to date. All day event. I'd also done the Kevin tour to see it come off the line before hand.

I am concinced, I will do the NCM delivery. Buy the way I have been on the tour at the factory two times. I plan to have my son ( which is a motor head like his dad) go with me and let him be the first to drive the car. He can`t afford one yet but he sure wants one. Every time he comes home from school he wants to drive my 2002 Vette. Thanks

One more thing; coming in the front door of the Museum and seeing your name on the wide screen TV/monitor is great but walking in further and seeing MY "Vette" in the Atrium (?) lined up with the others took my breath away.
