Default Does anyone's seat move when you open the door?

About one in twenty times I go out to my car, I find the seat moves back to the "exit" position as I open the door. I almost always use the same set of keys so I don't think it has something to do with different settings. Anyone have an idea why this happens sometimes?

I've not ever had that to happen. I'd make sure I had both fobs programmed the same. I've programmed both of mine the same, although I always use fob no. 1.

I am having same problem. Took to dealer they cleared a code and it worked for a couple days then stopped again. Would like to hear if anyone else has a resolution.

I'm not sure if you have the manual tranmission or not...but if you do, the exit seat reposition will only accuate with the park brake applied.

Are you sure you're using the same "profile"? Maybe the two are set exactly the same except for the "exit seat recall" function? Maybe you've inadvertantly selected it while driving?

My wife and I have nearly identical settings, and it can be hard to tell we aren't driving your own profile if we aren't paying attention. One minor difference, I love the exit seat functionality while my wife hates it. Guess how we usually find out we're using the wrong profile?

I believe if you shut the car off AFTER you open the door, the seat does not move into the entry/exit position. Then the next time you open the door, the seat moves to the entry/exit spot. Or something like that. I think it has to do with the sequence in which you exit the car.

Normally, the seat goes to the exit position (and stays there) when you open the door to exit the car. It would then logically still be in the exit position when you open the door from the outside to enter the car. If, as twfreightman states, the car was last shut off after the door was opened for exiting, it makes sense that the seat would not move to the exit position until the next time the door is opened.

Sometimes simply disconnecting the battery negative for 10 minutes or more will allow the system to reset and eliminate any electrical or memory glitches.

if you start the car with the door open sometimes, it puts a ghost in the machine, I had the same issue on my c5. I finally just turned off the exit feature on the settings( see owners manual)

I have the exit seat movement working when exiting but does the entry seat movement work on the manuals or just the automatics? I have never been able to get mine to go to my preset unless I hit the #1 button on the door. Or do you have to do that?

Mine is programmed to move every time. I have a Manual Trans and it will not move unless the hand brake is set.
