I was turning on to a freeway onramp the other night while the streets were wet and my rear tires broke loose when I hit a recently painted crosswalk. I wasn't going very fast so it wasn't a problem. I was however surprised that the traction control didn't take over. Do you need to be at certain rpm's for the traction control to take over? Any further explanation would be greatly appreciated. By the way, I'm on brand new tires.
I don't know about you, but when the AH engages and I recover, I won't be looking at the dash for messages.
But I do check the seat for stains!
I get your point. But to be honest I usually do see the message if it comes on. I don't drive to hard on the street anyway, but it stays on for a few seconds I think.

Timewise, what was the duration of the "rear tires broke loose" event? A couple of seconds? A couple of micro seconds?
Do not rely on your AH or TC to drive your car safely.
BTW, Brand new tires have a silicone releasing agent on the tread. This takes a little time to wear off (unless you're at the track, then it's gone in 3-4 turns!) You can use MEK to remove this glaze, but it works better if you just drive on 'em. (Track junkies notwithstanding.)
I have seen an AH/TC message in the DIC before and not felt a thing. I have heard others say this also.
Same here! One day I was looking for a parking spot....and almost drove past an empty one...slowed down and turned into it pretty fast and I noticed the Active Tract Control came on, but I didn't feel anything as it happened so fast!
