Well, I wouldn't necessarily call them saps. They were the first kids on the block with the newest toy. It was probably worth it for them. I am glad they are and will come down though. I can't afford one unless they do.
Gunn Chevrolet in San Antonio has one on display that they are trying to get rid of. Someone ordered it ...then didnt take it. Its loaded and they are asking 80K...drive out
I ended up getting mine for Msrp from my local dealer, After being on Maxie Price Chevrolet Z06 list 17 months and getting nothing but the shaft! Thanks Monica! For NOTHING.
By the way I love my new Black 2007 Z06.
Yeah some of those first ZR1s went for 100K. But the new Z right now there is a dealership in Arlington, Texas that has 6 sitting on the lot and would not sell me any of them even a little below msrp. They all have 10K market adjustments on them. So I just picked up a base C6 for 6K under and I guess I will use the difference between it and the Z to mod it.
they're only poor saps if they try and sell it....
I think a lot of people miss this point. If someone paid $10K over sticker a year ago, without their family missing any meals, and have been enjoying a dream car for an extra year, with no intent to resell, then what difference does it make what they paid. They are enjoying their car, and no one is hurt.
When Z06s are available under MSRP (which will happen sooner or later) another batch of C6 owner will want to move up and will be pleased with the bargain they will get.
