GM Performance Exhaust
I assume it is like a marketing ploy - such as from Harley - "upgrade / accessorize". If the GM Performormance Exhaust (GMPE) is:
"GM Factory Authorized / improved exhaust note / free flow routing / stainless / within corporate dB noise guidelines / improve hp and torque" ...
Why didn't GM just use this system as "stock"? Because they want to charge another $1300 to make the car sound the way it should? If someone wanted it to sound like the current stock system, wouldn't they just buy a Camry or a Honda?

It's more or less the same as the BORLA SYSTEM.It sounds very nice!!AND YES,THEY WANT TO CHARGE 1300 FOR IT!!!Although that's a little on the steep side,everybody else is in that same ballpark,so what the hell!

The reason why GM put such a Whimpy sounding exhaust on the C6 is because they want to satisfy the European crowd were GM just sold a WHOPPING 1330 units for 06 and another WHOPPING 1098 units for 05.
Go figuire pissoff Thousands of US buyers so they could make the European crowd happy, GM knows that us American Saps will just up grade to a More Muscle Car sound if thats what we want.

Apparently the Euros have very sensative
and they dont like the sound of the GREAT AMERICAN THUNDER EXHAUST, They have a pretty strick law as to how many DB an exhaust system can put out.
