Need help decoding engine numbers please
Hi, I just purchased a 327 engine and the owner didn't know what it was from but I believe it may be from a 66 'vette. Here are the stamping numbers:
Rear engine block (near bellhousing): 3858174
Pad in front of passenger head: FO7II2AS
Heads, under valve cover: 3890462 & F276 & GM15
I would GREATLY appreciate anything you can contribute to helping me decode this engine. I have my fingers crossed that it's something I can use for my first rebuild. Thanks in advance! Malo
