when to shift to reverse?

when to shift to reverse?

my battery tender question brought up a new question for me....when should you shift to reverse?before you shut down the engine or after?i allways have waited till the DIC tells me to shift to reverse.does this matter?...thanks again..Mike

I shift to reverse first, than shut ignition. Not sure if it makes any difference, but this sequence has been suggested by Forum members in ths past.

I shift into reverse first and even let clutch out a little just to be sure it go's reverse. I always back my vette into the garage anyway and thats a great help because you know your in reverse !

I personally don't think it makes a difference because I do it all different times and I also don't bother to check if the wheel is locked or not.My car has not had any issues.
