Here we go with the "Take it. I won't want it back if you do" mentality. I say be responsible. The harder you make it for the criminals, the less they'll want to do it. I don't care if I want my car back or not. I want the satisfaction of knowing that the cops might have a chance of catching the lowlife that stole my car. Plus, even the most "green" car thief will usually park the car in a parking lot for a few days to let it cool off just on the chance it has a vehicle recovery system, especially if it is a "high end" car that is known to have vehicle recovery devices installed. At that point, you get it back (and all the hard work you put into it to make it your personal Vette) without any real damage.
I've had LoJack with early warning on my C6 for over 2 years. No problem, and the early warning works to tell you that your car has been moved whether the cops support LoJack in your area or not, so at least you'll be warned when something happens to your car and you can start LEO's on the job sooner. If you are in the market, I personally think there are better options available now than LoJack. There are similar systems that let you track your own vehicle so you don't have to depend solely on cops and their acceptance of LoJack in your area. Do a search for "LoJack" in C6 General and you'll find posts with those other systems outlined.
I placed my order for a new C6 on Saturday and I asked the dealer about LoJack. He indicated that LoJack might contribute to the DBS problem in the Vettes and warned me against it. Does anyone know if there is any truth to that concern?
I have an '05 M6 with lojack and early warning. No DBS. I didn't pay extra for the early warning, I just got it with it. I had my battery fail in the early sensor key ring, My cell phone rang about 10 minutes later saying- check where your car is. just a little piece of mind.

When someone commits a crime such as a murder, he should be punished. The punishment will not bring back the dead, but justice will be served. When someone steals something from you, do you what him to get a way or do you want justice?
If you let thieves steal your car today and get away with it, they will come back for more and most likely something more valuable...
