I've bought a billet replacement gas pedal. The problem is, I'm having trouble removing the old one. Does anyone know the pin removal secret? I did the same change to my C5, but had no problem removing the pin.
I can tell you with out a doubt the best way to install them IMO. Many of the locals saw my Elite pedals they ordered them. I became the resident installer and have done over 20 sets. The pin on the stock pedal is a press pin and held in with nothing but the press fit. I have a good pair of full size vice grips and lock (as tight as you can) it on the pinhead.
I wiggle up and down while pulling towards the drivers’ side door. This will take some effort but the pin will pop out. I also tape the spring over the pedal arm with the pin installed prior to installing the pedal. This allows for easier alignment when you hold the pedal in place. A mirror always helps. Elite has great instruction on their site
I did this on my 05 and the pin would not move at all. I finally drilled it out. Later I learned that it can be pinched out with the vice grips by clamping against the small end, closing the vice grips forcing the small side toward the head of the pin and out. Once it loosens a tiny bit, it will come out. I have done some for my friends after struggling with mine, so I know it works. Good Luck, It really will come out.

I did mine by putting a socket that was big enough over the large end then using a c-clamp on the socket and small end. Forced it right out into the socket and then I could pull it out by hand.

I think this is the best solution. This works like a champ
