Default Noisy Transparent Top Problem

Just finished a little road trip to Austin, Tx. Straight away highway driving there is was no problem. But when I got in the hills I noticed my top (almost constantly) making noises I've never heard before. It would make these "creaking" noises everytime I would move the car - up, down, turning. Has anyone had this problem? Is it common? Is there a fix?

Yes, there is a TSB fix out for it. There are some spacers that the dealer will put in and its under warranty. Im not sure the TSB #, but the dealer should know. If not, do a search on here or maybe someone can chime in with the TSB #.

There is a TSB on it, Bulletin Number: 050859003 CREAK OR POPPING NOISE FROM ROOF NEAR WINDSHIELD/A PILLAR. *TT (see below) but I think that may only apply to earlier models. The most general fix is a bit of strategically applied lithium grease around the pins.

Mine was quiet as a mouse when originally installed, but after a few months it has now gotten the habit of creaking when there has been a temp change and I first start driving the car. Every time I am going to remember to fix it, it quiets down. Maybe this weekend....

TSB# 05-08-59-003B which supersedes the 05-08-59-003A.

003B was issued 1/4/06 is document ID# 1747575.

Replace the left and right plastic guide in the roof latch striker following the procedure below. (Note that the latch is on the headliner, next to the "A" pillar.)

1. Unlatch the roof and remove the roof.
2. With a small screw driver, unlock the fingers of the guide from the striker and discard them.
3. Install the new plastic guides into the striker.
4. Install the roof.
