Our C5 gave us fits for a while because the engine would start and then immediately die. Start it again and it immediately dies again. Etc. Forever. Dealer couldn't find the problem. Turned out that the return spring on the ignition switch was too strong (or the detents too weak), it would flip the key from Start to bouncing off the Off position, the engine would die and the key would be in On. Finally figured it out and kept my hand firmly on the key during starting. Several other folks posted on the C5 section about the same problem.
Our C6 has 13k miles and I love the system, just put the fob in my pocket each morning and forget it. I'm a happy camper.
