Why would the battery be dead on a 2006 A6 after not driving it for about four days? I have heard of DBS but only in manuals and I believe they were 2005s also. I did not have the stereo on at all during this time and the car is stock. I am usually in the garage around it a lot with the FOB in my pocket. Would that make the car do something that could drain the battery?
Why don't you just test the battery to see how bad it is?I've heard these DELCO batteries aren't that good.Start with the obvious and work your way in.
I'd make sure you didn't push the button that turns on the lights on the bottom of the mirror by mistake. It is the same button that controls the dimming of the dash lights.

You're right, DBS is '05 MN6 only.
You have a different dead battery situation.
Merely being around your car while in possesion of your fob will not kill the battery in a few days.
Most likely you have a low charged or defective battery.

They are supposed to be on a 20 minute timer circuit, like most of the other lights. Mine seem to work that way.
replace it with a gel battery and be done with it. Those delko batteries really are crap it seems. Just replaced mine at 8000 miles and 1.5 years. Car sat for 3 days. Was going to change to a gel anyway, safer and no acid to leak on that computer module under the tray.

If you have an '05 shifter, you probably had DBS, and a new battery of any brand will not solve your problem. You'll need the new dealer applied BCM flash upgrade.
