Lowering the stock seats?
Does any one make any rails or hardware to lower the seats in a C6? I have searched and thus far haven't returned anything of use.
Thanks,
Stan

Seats sit on a stepped up section of the floor pan.
Rails already give a fairly tight clearance with the power seat motor.

Why? May I ask.

Retired & lovin' it!
There's very little clearance with the stock rails, gears & motors. Only way you can really achieve any lowering is to remove all the power seat mechanisms & go to a racing type seat bolted directly to the rail anchor points in the floor pan. As asked earlier, why do you want to lower the seats?

I'm 6'4" and find that the tranparent top provides a little more head room. The stock roof is barely a fit but fine. I'm considering extending the removable top height an design a bubble style roof option for mutants like us

You need to adjust the back of the seat to lean back as far as it will go... this will bring your head down... it can make a big difference. Experiment with all seat positions ... you'd be surprised how much you can fine tune with those seats... you may not be able to "lower" the seat bottom, but you can most likely get your head into a more preferable position by playing with the tilt, seat back lean, etc.

I'm 6'4 as well and I'm struggling to get into a comfortable poistion in the car so I also wondered about lowering the seat. I have the seat tilted back to bring my head down, but that puts my head back near the rear roof edge. I actually hit my head on that today when I went over a bump in the road today.

Do you have the rear of your bottom cushion all the way down? That seems to help more than just lowering the entire seat.
For extreme situations: on the C5 I removed 2 of the 4 springs that support the wire mesh "trampoline" under the bottom cushion. That allowed the bottom to sag a little more, gave me about 1" more headroom. Very comfortable. Not sure if that can be done on a C6, be sure to disconnect the side airbags before messing with the seat.

Put the bottom cushion down as far as it will go. Move the cushion back until you have comfortable leg room. Put the seatback at a comfortable angle. Then adjust the bottom cushion up some in the front which drops the rear.
I am 604 and like my back to be reasonably straight up. I found I could do that for support and get my headroom by tilting the front of the seat cushion up which makes the rear go down.
When you finally get it, immediately program in into memory.
