I bought an 05 C6 Lemans Blue Coupe. When it arrived there is a film on the top of the car & thins out as you go down the sides. This film can't be easily seen but you can sure feel it! My first thought was tree sap, not that. Maybe over spray from when it was in the body shop for the Targa top recall fix (they replaced mine). It's even on the glass, which a razor removed it quite easily.
Have tried various cleaners with caution, even a paint reducer if it were a paint overspray. So far, nothing works!!!!!!!!! It is such a beautiful color & afraid to be too liberal with anything.
Any solutions or ideas out there?
Thanks
I just had a similar episode cleared up with a professional claying.
Some sort of gelcoat or epoxy overspray blew over from my neighbor's garage. Better than new now!
Hoonose,
thanks for your input. I had never heard of claying but looked it up, interesting. The article I read mentioned "Rail Dust" Mine came across US by rail & assuming this is a connection. Any experience here?
