Default G meter

I read on this forum that if you hold in the page button for several seconds, the HUD will display your highest G number. Well I made some quick turns then pulled over to check with the HUD in track mode 1. Nothing happens, I can't get it to show the G recording. So, what could it be?

I have an 05 built in April 2006 and the G force works like a charm. Best I pulled was a .96

In April of '06 they were building 2006 cars, not 2005.

I know that it resets itself when you turn the car off, but it also might reset if you shift to "PARK"

My apologies, my previous post wasn't clear.

The G-meter works in the 05s, you just can't recall the highest G-reading you've pulled since you started the engine. You can always watch the Gs as you're registering them, you just can't recall them.

Also, I'm not sure whether that applied only to the base 05 models only or not. I do know that I had a base 05 C6 with the 1SB option package and it would not. Maybe Z51 optioned 05s would, I don't know.

In my F55-optioned 06 C6, you don't even have to switch to Track Mode. You can leave the HUD in Street Mode and still recall the highest G-reading you registered.

Works great in my 06 Z51, pulled a 1.20 at Laguna Seca a few weeks ago.

You do have to hold the page button about 10 sec. or so before the recorded Max. G reading is displayed. When it is displayed, it doesn't show an extra field in the HUD or beep, it updates the current reading with the stored max values until the page button is released.

My 05 made in Dec/Jan 04-05 does not hold G number at 10 second hold.
