The last set of headers I bought (which was longer ago than I care to admit to) were about $150. I just started looking for a pair for my 91 L98 Coupe and couldn't find a pair cheaper than $950!!! Am I missing something? What happened???? And to all you wise guys out there, "if you want to play, you have to pay", is not a helpful response! I've already heard that from my son! Thanks...
Yeah, I hear you. The simple fact is that vettes are not, nor ever have been cheap vehicles to mod. Without doubt, manufacturers price vette hardware higher than anything else. Much available is of top quality, but you sure can't assume that's always the case. In regard to the headers, I imagine they are stainless steel, which your $150 ones certainly weren't. You may want to consider leaving it stock, very carefully looking at used parts, or getting an F body.

HA!!
I remember those days.
One could buy a fairly decent home for less than a Corvette.

Smart boy.
The "Corvette Tax" has always been with us, and, a PITA.
Instead of "If you wanna play, ya gotta pay" just say, "If you want headers, ya gotta pay" & you'll feel better.
