Default billet radio/ac control *****

Howdy all. I ordered a set of billet control ***** for my '07 C6 Coupe from Vetteshop. Super service, good price.

These ***** are actually two sets of two ***** each, one set for the radio and the other set for the a/c controls. The radio ***** are not interchangeable with the a/c *****. An attached warning describes the different ***** and the ***** are packaged in two separate and clearly labeled envelopes to preclude attempting to mount the radio ***** on the a/c stalks and vice versa.

The radio ***** went on fine, but for the life of me I could not get the a/c control ***** to seat on their stalks. A friend tried and he couldn't get them on either. There is a sleeve in the **** that fits over the respective stalk, and it seemed to slide within the ****. I tried loc-tite on the sleeve but that didn't work - wouldn't hold the sleeve steady. I then removed the sleeve and put the sleeve directly on the stalk, then mounting the **** onto the sleeve. That didn't work either.

Vetteshop is shipping replacement ***** in case these were the wrong ones, but other than that - anyone out there have any suggestions?

Thanks

Mike

Haven't had that experience but keep us posted on the outcome with the new ones.

Had a mechanic monkey with the little clips that go over the a/c control stalks and that did the trick. He had to spread them out a little. Took him a while to get it right.

Vetteshop (Vendor) is top notch in my book; offered replacements up before I could even finish yakking about the problem. Replacement ***** are on the way which I will return asap.

Look cool!

You know, I would LOVE to post pictures but have absolutely no idea on how to do this on this forum. I see the 'insert image' thing above, but apparently that's for a link to a website image. I did a search on posting pictures but found nothing.

If someone out there can make me smart on this subject I'll be happy to post some of not just my billet ***** but of my entire car!

Thanks

Mike

Hey Mike,

Open a Photobucket account (www.photobucket.com). Upload your images (super easy), them copy and paste the IMG address into your post. Piece of cake!
