Well, As the title says, I'm wondering if the Z06 calipers will interchange with my stock Z51 Calipers?? Or is there more modding to do to get them to bolt up correctly?? I like the looks of the Z06 calipers but I'm not willing to do mods to my Z51 to get them to bolt directly up. If they are not interchangeable then thats that.... thanks Tonya

The calipers will bolt up to your knuckles with no problems at all. But the brake lines are different as are the rotors.

So, it would probably be better for me to just have my Z51 calipers powdercoated instead of "trying" to do the swap...?? sounds like it would be a big pain to swap..

Really an easy swap. Did mine in a couple hours. Looks great, improved braking.

L0L, an easy swap reallly...... um if you call getting. New calipers,pads,rotors,brake lines and wheels to make the brakes fit a c6, than yes its an easy swap.............

Yes, i agree, its very easy to do the swap. If you have the proper tools, its a two hour job. Hardest part is swapping out the brake lines.

Parts fit. Need new brake lines from the hard line to the caliper. Good time for SS lines here. Need the calipers and the rotors to fit. Size of the rotors depends on the big brake - Z06 calipers require Z06 rotors. Finally you will need to change the offset to clear the calipers. You can do that with new wheels or with spacers. If you use wider wheels with Z06 (or what ever is required) offsets and you use wider tires, you will need to have wider fneders.... One thing leads to another....

If you do this, it is a good time to replace your aging brake fluid

I guess easy for you also means dropping $2000 for the brake parts and another $1000 to $2000 for new wheels to clear the Calipers. All for the looks of a big caliper, check the stats you are better of with your stockers, upgrading the pads, stainless lines, good fluid, for a fraction of the cost of the Z06 upgrade and you will pretty much have similar breaking capabilities. Most on here do it strickly for looks. Heck even the guys with Z06's ditch the fronts in favor of Stoptechs or Similar. Good luck with whatever you decide. But if it's looks your after powdercoat the stockers from mike the powedercoater for $300 and you are done.

No way Z51 brakes with different pads stop as well as Z06 brakes. I just put a set of Grand Sport brakeson my 07 and they stop WAY better than the old brakes. It is "easy" to do the swap too. It might be a little costly, but it is easy to do.

Ok.. u guys have saved me some $$.... I will NOT be converting my stock calipers to Z06 calipers....... if I decide I'm gonna change them I will just have mine powdercoated.... my cars not a dd,nor does it see the track.. I just like the looks of the z06 calipers better. But not enough to do that much extra ... all I see are $$$$$$$
