Default Great Buy

The clear sills are one of my better buys. Since our 07 coupe is my wife's daily driver, her heals will not scuff the original plastic. The clear sills are a snap to install and remove for cleaning. Got mine at WCC.

I haven't bought a set of these for my C6 but I loved the set I had for my c5. They are the best protection for your sills! Bill

I got mine from Mid-America for about $79. They work great. They have a textrured surface on the underside to make scratches less noticeable and are precisely cut to ensure excellent fit. As mentioned easy on and off for cleaning. I highly recommend them.

I have them and like them! Wanted to keep the custom door sills looking good. They pop right off for cleaning or if you don't want them on for any reason. You can rebuff them when they get scratched and they clean up well... Here's a pic BEFORE I cleaned it... Notice the dirt is on the outside.... They have totally protected my sill plates very well so I'm happy.

The best part is the just pop on and off.... take 2 secs to remove so anytime you want them off it's easy. I tend to scuff the sills getting in out and out of the car (just careless) and this really keeps them looking nice.

As stated above, they work great! I would recommend lightly beveling the bottom edges of each protector (where they contact the painted surface of each sill) if they have a sharp edge in those locations. Just take enough off the bottom of each sharp edge to prevent it from digging into the sill if the protector flexes.

I had them on all my C5s but the early ones for the C6 sucked. Sounds like they have gotten better... Still, though, I always think of my Aunts living room with the plastic covered sofa whenever I see them...

Got mine from Ecklers for around $69.00. Got them after getting a few paint nicks in that sill area and got tired of taking it to the dealer's bodyshop to repaint/clearcoat it. So now those clear stills are staying ON. I found a technique on the web (see link below) to totally remove scratches on the clear sill acrylic which works super well, so I dont see replacing those sills anytime soon either!

I used the 600 wet, then 1500 wet and then went with some NXT metal polish and that did the trick. When you start sanding, it clouds up and you srart getting worried, but the polish clears it right up and looks like new again...less the scratch of course.

Used them on my C5 and they were great. Overpriced, but great.

Have not gotten them for the C6 yet. Just cannot see paying the Vette tax for these. What do they go for, about $70.00? Thats crazy for two pieces of molded plastic.

Great protection! had them on my C5 I bought them from Corvettes of Houston...$69.00+free shipping. Keeps your sills clean and w/o marks. Very easy to clean/take off.

I'd rather just be careful - it looks LOADS better without them.

Clear sill protectors were the first thing I purchased for my 07. I'm sure they are a life saver. Especially on the passenger side were the riders may not be as **** as myself. One negative is that when I wash er up I always have to remove the protectors to wipe clear water deposits that find there way underneath. But that's a very small inconvenience considering.

Hey.....try making them yourself...see how much the material costs and the time molding them. $35.00 each a bit high, but the cost of you or somebody scratching or nicking up the sill area paint and/or the oem black corvette sill cover will cost you more than $70.00 for a body shop to fix it.

I'd rather just be careful - it looks LOADS better without them.

Was thinking the same as you, but when I got them and installed them, one barely notices them and if they do, they think its oem! IMO, nicks and scratches on the unprotected sill area looks LOADS worse than having the clear sill protectors.

One negative is that when I wash er up I always have to remove the protectors to wipe clear water deposits that find there way underneath. But that's a very small inconvenience considering.

But what I now do is remove them before washing the car...like you say, no big deal.
