Type in Supertooth in the search window. You can get one for $77 including shipping and tax from a 5 star rated seller.
I bought my wife the BlueAnt Bluetooth wireless earphone and it is a great unit. So hopefully this unit will be also.
While bluetooth is not a service, if the car had it, them people who would currently pay for OnStar, would not. I totally agree with you, that it should be there ... but odd's are that it won't happen as far as I can see ..
But it would allow you to use your existing cellphone as a car phone via the microphone and speakers built into the car. In other words, it would eliminate any reason to subscribe to the overpriced OnStar cellular service.
Bluetooth would take away business on the OnStar Mobile service ...
The late model Cadillac's have bluetooth with their nav system. So GM does not consider bluetooth as competing with OnStar. That is an Urban Legend. GM just cheap charlied the Vette. I thought the Corvette was the technology platform for other GM cars - another Legend?
i really doubt that anybody would subscribe to on star only for hand free cell phone use. The people that are using that feature already have on star for on star services and the hands free is a perk.
Dont you think?

This is interesting information. I wonder if the Cadillac Nav system is the same or different model as the C6. How could we find out and would it be as simple as a software upgrade and/or additional factory hardware for bluetooth capability?
according to the crak the NAV thread, the cadillac is a different unit.

I agree that my cell phone and my Onstar serve 2 different purposes. My Onstar (in my TrailBlazer, not my Corvette) paid for itself when, during a very busy morning schedule, a CHECK ENGINE light came on. With only about 500 miles on the SUV, I didn't know whether it was about to melt down or it was something trivial (no gauges showing anything abnormal). I punched OnStar, the guy pulled the error code and said it was in the category of "see your dealer within a week" which relieved my anxieties and I resumed my day's schedule as planned. It turned out to be a cracked gas cap seal which was preventing the system from pulling a good vacuum. The security level of OnStar is a super service.
Very nice write up Steve, don't know how I missed it... I'm thinking of going this route...
You may want to wait until the Parrot Corvette adaptor is introduced. They just sent me an intro unit and I hope to have it installed this weekend. I'll write up a review on ease of use and ease (hopefully) of installation. Stay tuned...
Have the Supertooth in the vette now. I've tried and returned 3 bluetooth headsets because of low volume and poor microphone performance.
The Supertooth is nice. The volume out of the speaker is great and the people on the receiving end don't have any trouble understanding me. Paired the 1st time with my Treo 650 and has not lost it. It does support voice dailing, but the Treo does not.
Comes with 2 magnetic visor clips and the ST has two strong magnetics that hold to the clip. I put one clip in each of our vehicles. Also comes with a 12V charger and wall charger. Standby time is 800 hours and talk time is 20 hours.
Bought new for $62 including shipping off Ebay. Very pleased!
That won't work for me. I want a system that mutes the stereo, is voice activated, has phone book memory, and works off of switched power. My Dodge truck has OEM bluetooth with voice control and a phone book. It really rocks. I want the same thing for my Corvette.

I ordered a BlueAnt bluetooth device and just got it today. Man, the audio is excellent - very clear, easy connectivity to a Razr phone. Can't wait to use it with the top down on the vert in a couple of months. I searched PriceGrabber.com and found one for $67.00 + 7.95 shipping.
I'm sold. I'm waiting for the Bose version and my buddy is waiting for the non-Bose version of the new Parrot plug and play harness. they only make about 20 a week and we are on the wait list...If you are interested, get on the list by calling parrotkits.com at 1-888-8-CARKIT. I found you can save about $20 if you buy the color Parrot unit itself elsewhere but I got everything from parrotkits.com for convenience...
