Default Windscreen for Convertible??

Does anyone know??? I just saw on the GM website for the 07 convertible they are offering a dealer installed windscreen. I have an 06 Z51 Vert and would be interested in having it done. Does anyone have one?? Is it fixed or operable?? How much??

I have the GM Windscreen in my 06 vert. It needs to be removed to raise the top. You can install it yourself and it costd around $350.00.

I wanted one of those but having to take it down to raise the top seems stupid. Darn, what a let down.

Default GM Windscreen

I offer these thru our GM store. If you have a Power Top C6 you have to use the GM windscreen but if you have a Manual Top or C5 I offer the VetteNet. Both products are good. Please email me at dfichtner@fichtnerchevrolet.com and I will send you pricing on either product. Please specify which you are interested in. I have a great special going on the VetteNet if you have a C5.

I bought my GM one from Fichtners. Great product and looks super installed. Cuts out about half the turbulence. Makes it much easier to talk and hear the radio. I love mine. It only takes about 1 minute to remove or install it. The longest time is putting it back into the protective zip bag.

I works wonderfully. Cuts the wind by 70%. You can talk at 60.

Yes you have to take it off to put up the top, but it takes about 15 seconds.

I think I would like this. I'm interested in how to install and whether the dealer needs to install or can I.

I Have one on my C5. It dosen't need any installation. You install & remove it when you put your top up or down. Takes just a few extra seconds. Oh and by the way wife & I love it.

I might have to get one of those! The wind noise isn't bad anyway, so if this makes it even better, that would be awesome!

I have a new 07 power top convertable. Which one would work with mine? Do they come in colors or are they all black? Are they easy to put in and out? Finally what is the cost?
Thanks

. . . and why would you want to get out to install and remove when you have a power top?? Seems to make no sense to me!

Now if you could leave it in . . .

I have a power top. Got the power top because I didn't like having to get out of the car to put up the top. Struggled with that on my last vert (1988 RX7) for 16 years. My last vert, however, did have a production built in wind delfector that could be left up (in place) whether the top was up or down. This was a great feature. I would buy a delfector for the vette if it could remain up all the time like my last vert.

my .02 cents and wishes.
