I had some major problems with my 05 when I first got it. The cover fell on to the canvas and cut it and sometimes the top would get stuck half way down. Dealer fixed the problem with the actuaters and replaced the top. They even threw in a CD changer for my troubles. The top has worked without problems ever since.

I don't know if closing the top is the only issue. I thought that re-indexing the windows is required. At least that worked for me. Did you re-index the windows after puttin up the top?

Curious why the power top would not work as soon as battery is up to charge - does it have its own reserve power supply??????

I've got an '07 with 4,000 miles that rarely gets driven with the top up. Other than the wear that is occurring on either side of the headliner, I haven't had a single issue with the top or the mechanism.

Took delivery in June 05. Dealer has replaced about every mechanical part - meaning that I had problems with the top for several months. It has worked well for quite some time now and I really enjoy it. But it was a bit of a pita for a while.
