Default Tonneau cover not flush with trunk lid

When I open my top the tonneau cover does not close flush with the trunk lid. It sticks up just a little bit. When the top is up it is flush. Has anyone had this problem, and is there a fix ?

Thanks,
Pete

Hi Pete,

Yep, got the same problem here http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...1571537&page=2
post # 40.
I don't know of a fix, sure am glad I don't have to see it while driving I think my picture make it look worse than it really is.
Open the trunk and look at the round bumper stop to see if it is touching, if so you can turn it down with an allen wrench.
Good luck

Appears to be something the assembly plant should have seen and fixed. I think that is called QC (quality control).

Had the same problem.
Lucky for me I picked the car up at the Museum, they tried to adjust with no luck, so they sent it back to the factory the next morning for repair. I had it back by 10:00, not perfect, but a lot better and hardly noticable. I think they replaced the rubber molding around the cover, but not sure.
Would take to dealer, that's what the warranty is for.

You'll always get a difference in height at the back of the tonneau, when the top is up or down. You'll notice the tonneau has to mash the top into the opening to stow the top and get it closed and hold it up when the top is up.

Shouldn't move a bunch tho-

I have checked mine and tonneau does NOT touch the top when stowed. I have a manual top(my choice) and I turn the latch to "locked" position before I lower the tonneau.

I noticed the same thing on mine too. I try not to think about it. Right now I am concentrating on the holes that are starting to wear on the headliner. I also am unhappy with the wrinkles that don't seem to go away after putting the top back up.

Next time I am getting a coupe.

Yup, same thing here. Noticed it earlier but again today when I put the top down to wax.

If a previous poster had the Museum return it to the factory and they still didn't get it right, I'll be damned if I'll take it to the dealer.
