Battery Charger Question

Battery Charger Question
Well it's finally getting cold and snowy here in Michigan so it's time to put the vette up for the winter. And I needed a battery charger.
After many questions and recommendations I bought a CTEK 3300 charger.

I have heard that I do not have to disconnect the battery from the car when using this charger. That it will not harm the electronics. I'm not sure if it's worth the risk. So I will err on the safe side and disconnect.
Has anyone had experience w/ this charger? Positive/Negative?
Also, if you use another kind of charger, which one?

I have the exact CTek charger and leave it hooked up WITHOUT disconnecting the battery... this will be my second winter (albiet mild for Northern Virginia) and absolutely no natta zip problems or issues. Use on my Lotus Elise too... and same.. no problems.
You do not need to be concerned...it is designed to be installed without disconnecting battery. Many think 'battery charger' and in reality this device (like similar products) is a battery 'tender and conditioner'

I also keep a charger on without disconnecting battery. Done so for 5 years ,no problems. Does any one cover their cars while having charger hooked up? I don't, but a friend of mine does. I think that is a no no.

Why would covering and charging with a Battery Tender be a no no? Are you worried about battery gasses going past a closed hood? Are those gasses heavier than air?
Thanks

I do and have for several years. ...its not like you've got a full-blown charger hooked-up. I think these things put out at the most 2-amps and thats a peak performance. Plenty of ventalization, no worries, no problems.
