Default 2005 XM Radio Antenna Replacement

I have read all of the comments about changing to Sirius and replacing the factory cross bar mounted (hockey puck) antenna with an antenna that can be placed in the rear trunk or tail end. But, I am pleased with XM and would like to install one of the smaller XM antennas that GM offers on some of it's other models. For example the Impala and Cobalt models have an antenna which is much smaller in height and is about 1 square inch in size. I don't want to remove the stock one and be forced to paint the cross bar, so this smaller antenna may be a suitable option for me.

As anyone made a change like this??

from what I've been told, the stock xm antenna on 05's is actually kept on by a hole drilled into the body,so you'd need some body work too.I also believe antenna's might be specific to the particular radio's.
