By accident I put 87 octane (10 gals), my son called me on it after the fact, he suggested to put in Octane Booster, I don't like additives but thought just this one time. I was only was going to put 1/2 bottle in (treats 25 gals) before I knew it he dumped the whole bottle in, now don't know what to do. Drain it or drive it.
If I'm not mistaken, the manual says it is OK to run the lower octane gas, performance will suffer a bit and not to be too agressive. If it were me, I'd just take it easy and run it down to 1/4 tank and then put in the best gas I could find. On the other hand, I had a '70 Vette, the last year for the high compression Vette, or nearly. 93 octane was low for it, so I used a racing additive, it ran great with that.

You only raised it by a 1/10 of a point at the most. Drive it, don't go WOT with it. Put the correct stuff in when you get to a 1/4 tank.
Additives are NOT recommended by GM in our engines.
I use 87 most of the time. After 14,000 miles I have had no problems. Never had a ping or any other fuel related problem. I put 91 in once in awhile but can't tell any difference. I'm aware the timing is retarded a little but I can't tell.
As stated above, octane booster does little to nothing to increase the effective octane of fuel in your tank. Unless it was something like toulene, which I doubt you can get at your local gas station.
Just be easy on the vehicle for this tank of fuel. Replace with 91+ octane on your next fill-up and you'll be good to go.
Don't sweat it. The ECM will retard the timing if needed. In other words, the engine is designed to run on 87 octane in a pinch. Some vette owners say they run regular all the time. I can't understand someone buying a $50k sports car and not using the recommended fuel which is high test. Can't possibly be good for the motor to run with timing retarded all the time.

Isn't that like breaking on eof the 10 Vette-commandments?
AMSOIL claims their Octane Booster raises Octane by 4-5 full points:
They show a graph with 88 Octane going to 93 Octane.
It takes 1 gal of xylene to 4 gals of gas to raise octane by 5 points. They are full of $hit.
So, how many gallons of this miracle drug was poured into the tank. If the tank was full and let's say he used 3 gallons before he discovered the "oops", he poured a can of "how much" into 13 gallons of gas and it went up HOW MANY points? 88 to 93? I'm having a problem with this whole idea, sorry...

Jim,
If you still have it, I'd check the bottle of the octane boost you used. Most octane boosts on the market that actually do increase octane, including AMSOIL's, contain lead which is very detrimental to your cats. If you bought one of the many over the counter versions available at most gas stations, as mentioned above, it likely won't raise Octane enough to matter, nor will it likely be detrimental to your cats.

I don't know which is more misleading, their graph or their statment...
A point = 1/10 (0.1)
Graph shows octane going from 88 to 93 but doesn't say how many bottles were used.
Even so, at $8.95 per 15 gallons of treatment, you're paying almost $0.60/gal, when you could just pay $0.20/gal more at the pump and get a higher refined fuel.
Just drive the low octane fuel out of the system and start from scratch.

If anyone is marketing a "lead additive" for street use, they are subject to a $10,000 fine for each transaction. EPA strikes again. Now,a lead substitute that isn't actually lead is a different deal altogether.
Just run the 87 octane fuel level down to nothing and refill will 91 (or 93.)
