Best way to ship a top?
Ok so when I bought my C6 in KY I couldn't take my top because of the wheelchair (second top) the dealer was supposed to ship but they say UPS won't ship it. Anyone know of the best method of shipping a top? Thanks for any info.

Yeah so far I am not sure I should be happy or mad about the delay but at least it is still in one piece. The dealership origionally told me they would ship it on a pallet because of the size. then they said UPS then Fedex. Then they talked about the salesman bringing the roof with him when he flew out here for the title on the trade. Hopefully they will get it straightened out soon.

I bought a transparent roof from Fred Beans a few months ago. They shipped it UPS In the G.M. box. My son put it on before I got home and it was perfect. Then I looked at the box and I was horrified, It was full of foot prints! So I think if it is packed in the factory box it should make it just fine.

"In honor of jpee"
I had a diff acryl. top shipped to me from a priv. seller. Arrived just fine with tons of peanuts (enough to fill a 33 gal. bag). Came in the equiv. to a "wardrobe" box used in moves. Cut in half and fitted over each half.
Ask Mr. Mojo, a moderator. He works for UPS and IIRC has said on the C4 forum that it's best to use rigid styro. Same stuff you see in tv boxes, stereo, etc.

I sold my C5 top. Made a box for it and then shot in the expanding foam stuff in it from our shipping dept. It conformed to the top and arrived via UPS without damage.
