Learning winter driving in my C6.
A few weeks ago after the big snows had stopped in Denver and I had gone 3 weeks without driving my new LeMans Blue coupe, I had low enough center on my unplowed street to take her out.
In dry or wet slush, she slides too easily.
Then I was on another side street with snow, turning left onto a busy street which was bare and dry. I saw a traffic break and made a dash to the center before trying to merge into traffic.
With all the snow packed in the tire treads, the back end, fish-tailed, and almost went into a traffic lane where there was traffic. She still would slip a bit with the snow still in the tire treads for about a half mile. After that she was fine.
Sooooo, that was a steep, but, learning curve.
Looking forward to this week and hopefully more melted snow so I can see my street bare. Haven't seen it since about 22 Dec.
Hope you all are having a good and safe driving weekend!!

Probably your best shot are these:

Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S-C EMT (Ultra High Performance All-Season)
It seems no one makes a dedicated winter tire yet.
The tires above are the All season Mud and Snow equivelant of the OEM runflats.

I've been driving my 05 coupe in the snow with the standard runflats for the past four weeks. No problems what so ever. The street crews here do an excellent job keeping the roads plowed and clear. Just use common sence behind the wheel and you'll be fine. The C6 handles more like a mid-engine sports car than a front end heavy rear wheel drive car. That's because of it's near 50/50 weight distribution. I remember driving my Camaros in the snow. Talk about fish tailing. Those cars were all over the road. I had a dickens of a time controlling my Camaros in the snow. Not so with the C6.
