Sorry Mr Valet, no head games! It sounds like you've been watching our ad for the past few weeks, but weren't reading the whole thing.

In our ad, we gave a discount and clearly said that it was only on the vehicles who's VINs we listed in that ad. These were some older cars that we wanted to move. The ad also said that we ad other cars available at less of a discount.

Each week, the number of VINs left with the bigger discount got less and less until finally we are down to one coupe and one convertible available at the bigger discount.

So, rather then run the discount that is only good for one car, we ran an ad that says get at least $X,XXX off a new Coupe or Convertible.

The discount now is the same as it was since the beginning of January on the bulk of our inventory.

Having said all of that, everyone made great points. Spring usually does start to see discounts become less, but who knows what affect the upcoming changes will have. Our prices will always be determined based on how sales are.

The one thing that I can say, we do look to adjust every week if needed. When we say our prices are good through Saturday, don't be surprised if the price goes up on Monday. It's not head games, it's just pricing to go with the market.

Thanks guys!

What, no vast pricing conspiracy by Kerbeck?

Dave, thanks for the reasoned response, but I doubt the conspiracy minded will believe it.

Dave, what you say is simply not true and in actuality, I've been reading your ads for longer than a few weeks. May I suggest you read your own copy.

I'm sorry there seems to be some confusion. Not only do I read the copy, I write it...every week!

The $6,500 discount on coupes and the $7,500 discount on convertibles has been the standard discount since the beginning of January.

Did we have limited amount of car available for more of a discount? Absolutely, and we still do! We just don't have enough of those left to have them lead the ad?

There's plenty of forum members who bought cars or spoke to me via phone or email that can account for the $6,500 off.

It would be better if everyone thought that I was raising prices...it's actually a good idea, but it's not the case!

This, in spite of a purported new engine, new tranny and some other interior options, and also in spite of an economy that doesn't support their stance. I am hoping people won't fall for it.
Corvette buyers are a knowledgeable group.
Sometimes they know more about the Corvette than the salesman does.
There is no need to worry about Corvette buyers.

My local dealer kinda did the same thing. When I was looking at buying new they basically told me I had a week to make up my mind and order if I wanted supplier because their other alotments were for summer cars.

Default A salesman speaks the truth!!

Dave at Kerbeck says the following:

"Im sorry there seems to be some confusion. Not only do I read the copy, I write it...every week!"

"It would be better if everyone thought that I was raising prices...it's actually a good idea, but it's not the case!"

and it's not because they're price gouging or any of the more reprehensible practices that some have inferred in this thread ...

I never said anything about price gouging, small print or any illicit behavior. Please see my original post. Thank you.

Also IMO, the changes for 08 are not nearly enough for most of us to upgrade from an 05-07. If your willing to wait for the 08's availability, fine. If you want a Corvette for this Spring & Summer, then demand will prove that the 07's will sell without the same discounts you saw this past winter.
They know what they're doing!

As far as I am concerned, Kerbeck's or any other high volume dealer is doing what they always have done - offering these cars at prices that most Chevy dealers can't do. I feel lucky enough to live within driving distance of Kerbeck's and wouldn't hesitate to drive down there again and buy a car. The other (closer) dealers simply cannot/will not sell me a new Corvette for what Kerbecks will. It's a pretty simple decision as far as I can see. Unless of course, you have an umlimited amount of money- which I don't!! I think I'll go look at their web site and see what the comotion is all about.

Kerbeck's has a 2007 Coupe - 2LT - 6MN - Z51 pkg - Montery Red with Cashmere interior for $44,290. That's worth driving to Atlantic City! Period.

Yes, if Dave gives you his word it is true. Kerbeck, unlike other car dealers does not change the "deal". Kerbeck is and has been a class act.

Do some comparasion shopping and you will see why they are the number one in Corvette sales ........ and yes I bought my Corvette from Dave and I have also dealt with other forum dealers. I would recommend Dave

however, for the auto industry to " live long and prosper" the "day of the stealer" is over. Companies like GM will have a company owned place to demo, order, receive and repair. Build on demand and custom is near....

Gosh, I wonder if this is a "profit thing" (I can still hear Steve Martin in "The Jerk").

I'm one of these. Got a price from Kerbecks that they would not even discuss at several S. FL dealerships. Ordered and the car is on the way.

Nobody ever said what dave changed this posting to, all I said was how kerbeck (or any other dealer if able to) attempts to create a demand. Take a look at the original posting

This must be something new. I never before heard of a business trying to create demand for it's product.
