Default Brakes Feel Harder

I have a new 2007 Z-51 C6. I traded in a 2005 A4. Love both cars. I like the new 2007 better. The 07 must have "harder" brake pads because there is a different feel, more effort is required and it never seems to get into the "sweet spot" on the brakes where they are really taking hold. At the same time it is no problem to stop the car really quickly. The 2005 had a brake squeal (which I didn't mind) and the 2007 does not squeal. Not a real problem. Any ideas on some different brake pads??

Yes, good question. My '06 Z51 dumps a lot of dust on the wheels in a week of daily driving.

It could just be the difference between a brand new car and one that's 3 years old.

When you drive a car everyday for 3 years, you don't notice the change in the feel of the brakes, steering, suspension, ect.

Kinda the frog in the boiling pot scenario.

I'm not sure what you're looking for in terms of "feel" for the brakes.

Default Brake Pads

No Problem, Just Observation...guess I Was A Bit Obtuse. On New 07 Less Brake Dust, No Squeal....new Brakes Just Don't Seem To Do Performance Stops As Well As Old 05 Dusty, Squealey Ones.
