Default Help with a decision ....

We have two C5's now plus a Dodge Ram ... 01 NBM vert; and 03 Anniversary Edition coupe. We don't want to trade either of them in .... a dealership near us just got in a 06 Monteray Red vert - fully loaded, even nav system and automatic top; 8,600 miles. We can get it for $50K ... should we? We eventually want a C6 and like that color the best so far. Why would we need 3 vets??? Such decisions ... anyone have a suggestion?

The only thing I don't like about it is that is has a clear bra and the line is in the middle of the hood. I did a search on the forum and understand you can take it off without hurting the paint ... is that true?

I bought a new '07 in Nov. for 54600 same equip., so I think that price is a touch high.

Good luck though, you'll love the C6.

A vert? Really ... interesting - everything I've found looks like they are in the 60's.

Kerbeck has one advertised for $56,850 (also includes A6 tranny):

So, you can find them for the mid-50's. Check out the forum dealers.

As others have posted here, the C6 is an awesome ride with great power. You will love it.

As to the price, contact forum vendors because there are huge discounts available at this time. You can get a new one and put the first 8600 miles on it yourselves for just a little more money. If you are willing to have a 'lightly' optioned car, then for about the same money as the one used, you can have a new one. It is your decision and good luck.

Why not upgrade the current C5 convertible to a C6 convertible? Good luck with your decision!

I would go for the C6 Vert, but would look for an 07. Try some of the forum vendors. You might spend a little more but you'll get a new car with the longer warranty that comes with it. If you are financing the car you might find the finance rates to be less on a new car than on a new car, this will narrow the price difference over the life of the loan.

If you're not too concerned about the color, there are still some leftover '06s around with only delivery mileage that can be had for $50, or so, loaded. The best of a couple of worlds -- a new car at a used car price.

Default Decision

I did check out some of the forum suppliers and y'all are right. I can probably get a 07 for just a little bit more money. I think I will pass on the used 06. Thanks .... anyone know what the new "red" will look like that is replacing the Monterey Red?

If you have nothing better to do with "50k", than get it. Other-wise I would "dump" one of the c5's first. Good luck & congrat's on your C6!!!
