Default REBOOT Required to get the radio to work

Every once in a while when I get in and start the car, the radio will not work - no cd's no nothing.

I then turn the car off and restart it (reboot it - just like a PC) and all is well.

Anybody else experience this?

Happens to me once in a while for CD playing only. Most of the time I can turn off the radio then back on again and it works fine. Worst case I have to eject the CD and reinsert it. Hasn't annoyed me enough yet to replace the radio. At least it doesn't skip like both my previous Hondas did.

Happens with mine spuratically. Mostly when I'm changing from radio to cd. I thought I was doing something wrong because you turn it off and back on and it's fine. Guess I'll have the dealer look at it if I have any other problems.

I waited until it quit working. Then, when it did quit, I drove to the dealer's, pulled up as close to the entrance to the shop as I could, opened the door and left it open and the car running while I went inside to get the service manager. They were able to pull the code(s) and found out they needed to reprogram it. They told me if it happened again, they'd order a new radio. A few weeks later it did and they did. No more problems.

yes, i've also had the skipping cd, and the jumping presets.

it may be related to the control *****. they seem to be super sensitive.

i pulled the ***** and blew out the area with some air, so far so good.

Every now and then when I start the car in the morning the radio seems dead. I hit the power button a few times, and nothing. After a minute or two, without restarting the car, the radio comes to life. Strange.

Once the screen was blank and the CD was playing. Restarted and all was OK.
