Default Battery tender question

Based on input found in this forum, I have ordered a Battery Butler in order to maintain a good charge on my battery during periods of inactivity.

My question is whether a battery tender (specifically the "Battery Butler") has the ability to charge a battery which is unable to start a C6 to a point where it can be started and driven (versus being forced to jump start)?

it will charge the battery. HOWEVER, the charge is so light it may take 48-72 hours or more. that is what makes these things work, a very, very light current. also, if the battery is going bad (bad cell) the charger won't cycle (green light will not come on). i have used this product for my C5 and C6 with no problems.

Your best bet is to have a regular battery charger around for "other" uses. I have a few vehicles that could need charging including seasonal items like tractors, boats etc. Get one it will come in handy.

Put it on a regular battery charger for a couple of hours and then take it for a long drive (if you can). Then use the battery butler for maintenance. I think you would be asking too much of a batter tender to bring a near dead battery up to a full state of charge.

It could do the job but it would take a long time. Invest in a decent Battery Charger. They're always good to have around and they last forever. Mine is more than twenty years old.
