Vara-room!
on whether or not to buy a VaraRam kit...well let me tell you....I'm glad I did!
I decided to buy it last week, directly from VR Industries. The reason being, I had a lot of questions..
After talking to them, I decided to order it. It arrived at my dealership, in Long Island two days ago. My service advisior called me and we made an appointment for this morning. I didn't want to screw up the install
, so I let my mechanic do there. I bought the VR Kit, spacer, and pre-cut shroud. My mechanic said it when like a "charm".
You know all the posts on this forum about induction kits...well I've experienced it today!
I definitely felt the difference. It sucks the air, like a vacuum. At first, I really didn't believe it, but then, when I got on it, it was like a totally different car. If anyone is thinking of changing there air intake, I would strongly recommend, VR.
Don't do it. Just by the shroud, it makes it easier to install and faster.
The total install was for about an hour of work...$99.00+tax=$108.00; which I thought was good, since you have to take a part the stock intake, the shorud, and the throttle body, to attach the spacer(which can be a bitch)!
Hope this helps!

Congrats, isnt it a nice kick in the pants?
Now that you have it, take a ride to Chuck at Corvettes of Westchester and have him tune it. The Vararam is great by itself, but Chuck works very closely with the Vararam people, and he has a tune for it that will literally blow your mind.
Ed also has a cover that cleans up the install if you're interested.

He does all my mods!I went with the Vortex Ram Air Induction System from BPP. The fit and finish is supurb. Also they have documented dyno and track specs on their system vs Vararam and others and it blows them away.
Ernie at Breathless is a master when it comes to Vettes and I'm glad I took his advice. He sells the system with a Clear Box so you can see the filter and any debris that might get sucked in. VERY PROFESSIONAL AND INOVATIVE SHOP. First Rate and GOOD PRICING.

I've talked to a lot of people about this, not just on the forum, but very experienced tuners and they all say the VR is the way to go
and if it does seperate, its warrantied...I'll get another. As far as BPP(vortex), I haven't heard anything about it.
I'm sure BPP puts out a good product, but I'm happy at the decision I made, going with the Vararam
