Default Engine revs slow to decrease

I have an '05. Recently, I have noticed that when I take my foot off the accelerator, the engine is slow to decrease the rpm. I know the link from the accelerator to the FI is electronic. Anyone else had this condition? Thanks for any input!

My 07 does it too. When I "punch it" and let go the car feels like it's still revving for half a second. * I have the A6 Transmission what do you have? *

Every C6 I've driven is like that. It's annoying.
