Key west trip
Any suggestions on trip routes through Florida? Places to stay in Key West? Must see places and events? Places to avoid?
Thanks for your time.

Prowl Duval St and Market Square and watch the sun set over the Gulf.We are going back in June this year but may have to take the wifes car for an extra passenger.
By the way where in West Ky are you located? Need to hook you up with West Kentucky Corvette Club. Good bunch of folks.

The Hogsbreath Saloon has the best Pina Coladas. Let us know when you'll be there and we can watch you on the web cam!
http://www.hogsbreath.com/hogcam/There's a great Cuban restaurant...El Meson de Pepe down by the pier where all the vendors set up and where all the sunset activities are. http://www.elmesondepepe.com/
Also, don't miss the Blue Heaven restaurant for breakfast...you eat outside and the food and service are great. I hear dinner is good there too. http://blueheavenkw.homestead.com/Bl..._Key_West.html

Have a great time!

1600- mounds of shrimp with
at the north end of Caroline st. 1800- need to see the madness and sunset at Mallory sq at least once.
1900- Off to the VFW (lots of salty characters) on Elizabeth st for some "cheap" brew haha's, gotta get primed for a long night ahead.
A ton of Naval history in Key West, my personal favorite are the WW2 Catalina seaplane ramps on Trumbo Point. Miltary still own the place, I do believe, you might need to ask for a pass for entry.
Check out google earth before leaving and click on all of the layers for sights!!!
We like staying close enough so can walk to center---not a great place to park vette and if you like your brew like we do then best not to drive. can hire rides ! there are many places but beware of the ones that are less money and real close to center,,,,can be real dumpie !!!
If you want to spend some money there are some real great places but are very high price
there is the sunsetkeyisland.comNever been there but looks great. we realy like the KEYLIME INN very simple but lots of fun and clean. best to check ahead to see what is going on that time of year when you will be there,---forget spring break time !!! WOW
We have had the good the bad and the ugly !!!But you will have a ball--everytime we get back we say o-@#$% should have done that too!!! Have fun

As far as lodging, every time we go we stay at the Simonton Court Inn. It's a great B&B property and has several small pools and many types of rooms. Its walking distance from Duval St and the Pier area. The website is http://www.simontoncourt.com/
Hope this helps
