Default New C6 italian owner

Hello everybody,
at last, after having waited 4 months, next Saturday I will take my new 07 C6: silver, MN6, Z51, Nav, dual tone interior (ebony/titanium) and dual roof.
I live in Rome, Italy, and here the Corvette is very rare and exotic car. I can’t wait driving it…
Soon I will give you my impressions…

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody, because in this forum I can find a lot of useful and interesting information.
But now I wonder if you can give me some clarification regarding C6 exhaust. I know, there are several posts on the subject, but something to me is not clear:
I would like to change the stock exhaust. My choice is on the GM exhaust (for warranty reason, and also because it is easier to find it in Italy). As far as I have understood searching in the forum, there are three different types:
GM Touring (= Borla Touring)
GM Performance (=Borla Stinger) (I think I’ll take this)
GM Off-road (=???)
Is it correct? If yes, who makes Off-road exhaust?
Another question: how large are the GM round tips? 3,5 inches?

Thanks in advance!!!

Congratulations and best wishes.

Sorry, I don't know anything about the GM exhausts. I have Corsa quad sports (no drone) and x-pipe.

The GM after-market exhaust is Corsa, not Borla. Equivalent to Corsa Touring & Corsa Sport. Not usre about the "off road", but I suspect that would be too loud for every day driving nayway. I've got the Sports with Corsa X-Pipe on my '05/Z51/MN6 & am very pleased with the sound.....nice rumble without being too loud. But exhaust sound is very subjective...what may be pleasing to one ear may not be to another.

no that is not true, the GM exhaust is a rebranded BORLA system, as the original poster stated.

To the post starter, I thought there were only 2 systems from gm, the touring and performance. I think the off-raod and performance are the same system, just spoken about in the 2 different terms, because I believe the performance system is designated as "off road only" by GM due to noise issues.

Congrats on the Vette, post some pics when you can.

First I would like to welcome & congratulate you on your new corvette!! As far as the warranty issues, there should not be any with just replacing your muffler's. I would do some extensive research on this modification if I were you. As far as finding what you want, just order it on the internet and get what you want. There is ton's of good info on this forum about exhaust's (sound). Don't know the size of stock tip's, sorry. Congrat's again & good luck with everything

The GM exhaust is rebranded Borla, not Corsa.

There are jsut two types.

1. Touring
2. Off-Road Aggressive

The Off-Road is designated as such because in the U.S. it does not meet some Federal/state noise requirements, although I've not heard of anyone having any problem using them on the road.

Congrats on the new car!

Alex71,
Just curious. Do you have the traffic option on your nav? If so, how does it work?
Congrats on the car and welcome to the CF.

This is correct, there are only two versions of genuine GM accessory exhausts, which are rebrands of the two Borla systems. The quieter version, sometimes called "touring" here on the forum, is what GM calls "GM Performance." The louder version, sometimes called "sport" or "aggressive" here on the forum, is what GM calls "GM off-road."

I also thought that GM exhaust were only 2, but then I read somewhere that there is another one. Probably I am wrong...
Of course, as soon as I have my C6 I'll post some pics...

Thanks everybody for your welcome...

Ciao- Check with your dealer on changing pipes. Should NOT affect warranty.
Use your car for a while BEFORE making ANY changes. What you think you need now can very easily change with time.
Corsa Sports are what I've installed on my c6. Great sound and NO drone on highway.
Use your new car and enjoy it on your beautiful roads.
Ciao- Carlo

In Italy the Corvette is a rare and exotic sports car. Interesting.

Congratulations on your new American sports car, you will love it.
