Firestone vs GY? My Jury is Out!!!!!
Well I have the Firestone Runflats on and all I can say is wow! They are smooth, better stick and just a world of difference. They went from twist and turns to WOT at ??? and awesome. You won't regret the $950 you spent from Tirerack with delivery or where ever you get your deals on these meats. Someone asked for pics so here they are to see. The extra $$$ saved can go towards HP/TQ items.

As you are one of the first to get these things, maybe you can answer the warranty question. That is, can a flat be repaired or do you always need a new tire? Also-how is the road noise compared to the GY?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Is a Maxim magazine subscription included with every set of tires?! And from your post, it appears the jury is "in" and you like them.....a lot. Thanks for the write-up. I hope you get something in return for all the tires you're going to sell for them!

They also could be repaired with the right plug/patch at a Firestone dealership (first hand exp). According to the dealer then, the repair depended on the size and location of the puncture and would only repair one time. Also the repair did downgrade the rating of the tire. This was not enough to be an issue unless you are running near the limits of the tire. Hoping this is the same on the new stones as well because I plan on a set as soon as new ones are needed.

More Info
As the gent posted above the specs are all detailed out on tirerack.com but you have to enter (my car Z51) the tire size to see the Firestones. They are the same Z51 tire sizes as the GY. They are stickier from what I saw today and feel smooth as butter compared to the GY I had. Did not do a burnout so not sure of any squeal as compared to the GY but will in the next few days and post that. Legal burnout of course. They have a "Y" rating on them that is good up to 186 speed testing they said. They can also be repaired as long as you did not go to Zero PSI and run on the tire that damages the sidewall. Nails etc can be repaired. Same 55mph at 50 miles with a flat is what they claim. Road noise is far less and you can tell the difference going over bumps etc. Not a Lexus but far better than the runcraps I had. Sorry no free Maxium that was there for size definition.
