Problem With Universal Remote
For All Of You Out there Who Cannot Program Your Universal Remotes...Please Contact GM Customer Service And File A Complaint And Get The Case# From Them. Around August 06, GM Replaced The Homelink Visor Assy With A Lear Home 2u Transmitter, And Us Z06 Guys Have Had No Luck With Programming Gate Openers And Other Garage Door Units with the current Lear unit...Don't call Lear, they have no fix at this time.... The Homelink-brand Unit Worked Just Fine With Gate Openers, And I Don't Remember Anyone With Corvettes Having Problems....GM Could Have The Homelink Units Re-made and made Available If They Get Enough Case #s Filed With Customer Service...If You Are Pissed About It, Complain Now.....the GM Part# For The Homelink Visor Assy Was Part#15923878...there Are Only A Few New Ones Left At GM Parts Depts.....otherwise Wrecking Yards Will Have To Be The Source for now...

That's great, but the unit definetly does not work with gate openers at condos, or private residences......Also, if depends if you have a rolling or fixed code opener.....

Universal Remote problems

First of All check to see what unit you have in your visor assy. If you have 3 buttons w/3 lights above each button it is a Lear remote...If you have one light in the center of the 3 buttons with a little house logo...It is Homelink...Check your production dates....Most vehicles produced in Aug had the Lear Unit...Those prior had the Homelink....Not everyone has problems, but those that had the Homelink in previous cars had no problems that I know of with Gate Openers, the Lear unit definetly does not work with a lot of Gate Openers, and the Module won't help........

Just went and looked and I have the homelink so I guess that means I'm lucky. Why don't they just stick with what works instead of always trying different bs that has not been tested and proven reliable.
