Verts = Nice for putzing around town, great looks with top down, puking ugly with top up
Coupe = Built for road and track, versatile removeable top, best overall look with top on.

I love convertables. I love open top motoring.
I also love track events, and I have not been able to find a roll-bar for a convertable corvette that is also livable on a daily basis.
Coupe is the way to go.

My fun cars have always been converttibles.
The top is virtually always down, that is one of the reasons I purchased the convertible. When the wind is blowing through this gray hair, IT DOES reduce some of the aches and pains.

Sounds like us. Most all our driving is top down. O yes there are times the heater is on and a jacket is worn.
The O.P. mentioned color I got a DSOM because it so impresed me at Carlisle, that I had to have it. I have had 2 silver Verts before & was going to get another silver as its a nice color and very EASY to KEEP CLEAN.
So I got DSOM and guess what its EASIER to keep clean, something about that color just hids the dust. To me DSOM is the easiest color to keep clean and dust free.
I love and have had black cars before but they are the worst in the keep clean department.

I quess that's why the Farrari 308 GT never made it. When asked, vert or coupe, the 10% rule should be followed. If you have to drive with the top up 10% or more, go coupe. Vert with top down #10. Coupe with top on #10. Vert with top up #3, maybe #4. Coupe with top off #11 Come on now, real men drive coupes, verts are really a little sissy.

Test drove a vert and at the end of it my hair was full of tangles and my hair is not that long. My wife said she would never ride or drive with the top down due to the hair issue and with the top up, they are but ugly. Add to that the Texas sun on your neck and forget a vert. Plus coupes really are faster. I have tested them. They create less turbulance and the added friction from your hair floppy around creates so much extra drag that it eaisly hurts the times by at least 3 seconds in the 0-60. I personally did a very scientific test to determine this.

This is the same message that I got. So I bought the vert and never looked back. The top is down 90 % of the time.

Already have a C5 Vert and when I went to buy my C6 I really wanted a coupe, even though I'm not too big on the look of them with the top off. Went to a couple of dealers to see how I fit in the coupes (I'm 6' 7"). Unfortunately, I just could not sit in one without the back of my head hitting the B-pillar no matter how I adjusted the seat. Opted for another Vert and have no regrets. It helps that I live in Florida.

Of the 30 cars, I've owned, half have been ragtops. Both my C5's were coupes and as much as I loved that car it just wasn't a Triple Black Vert.

You mean ALL real Corvettes aren't roadsters?
After years of owning T-top/targa roof Vettes, my wife talked me into buying a roadster. I've been ruined ever since. I'll never buy a Corvette that isn't a full convertible. I don't care if it has 1000 horsepower!
