Default 2006 leftovers

While searching Chevy's website i found within a 50 mile radius 17
2006 model year Vettes available, that seems like a high number.
Unless there deeply discounted i for one would not consider it over a 07
What could be the issue with so many leftovers?

Default I did

Don't know the answer to that. However I bought my new '06 on Jan. 5th 2007. It was at a small dealership that gets one vette a year. It was exactly what I wanted and yes I got a great discount.

Not enough discounts earlier in the model year.

Also remember that there were slightly less than 41,000 C5s built the first 2 years. There were 71,000 C6s built the first 2 years.

Drive a hard bargin....take the first year depreciation off like it were used and then work a good discount for the current year. Not a good deal if its less than 10k below msrp....you might even do better if they really need to move it! Good luck!

Also with the anticipated changes for the 08' model year announcment in about 7 weeks that may drive better deals on 07's.
Cant imagine that come spring if there's still new 06's sitting around that may be a deal worth writing home about

If you can get a great deal on a 2006 and is what you want go for it.

I bought a leftover 3 weeks ago. Since there were no changes between the 06 and 07, and I saved $9,000, why not?

Check to see what the best deal available to you on an 07 might be. The longer warranty and possibly lower finance rates may make the 07 an even better deal.

I have an 07. But I would buy an 06 and purchase an extended warranty if the numbers are good.

That's why they are still there!!

I guess maybe they figure if they sit on them long enough some MORON will come in and buy them.

It just means that people in your area weren't buying Corvettes. Corvettes are all "sold" when they leave the factory. Most to owners some to dealer stock with what that dealer felt would be a good list of options. However, it is based on an allocation. If a dealer has an allocation and does not take it, he may not get it next year or he may get a less desireable slot later in the model year. Remember that the Corvette is a limited production vehicle. With GM, the more Corvettes you sell, the more you can get (not directly but you get the idea). Some dealers will take them without orders so they can keep getting them next year.
