Depends on how rich you are. Seems like you are wealthy enough because you mentioned you've got 911's, Maserati's and other nice vehicles before. So if you can comfortably spare 40K, I think you should get the Z06. It's one of the fastest cars you can get with that price... (cheaper than 911) and yes, you live once, you cannot take it with you.

I would hold off and just wait until the C7 comes out. Get your money out of the C6 first. Something bigger and better will always be around the corner...

I ran into a GM guy at a show this weekend, he said the Blue Devil will hit the market fast and furious when it is released, though he was coy about the date (or he didn't really know). Always something new to buy out there.

If money is the issue, then keep what you have for a year or two, since you have already taken the (depreciation) hit. Then buy a 2008 or 2009.
However, having said that, there is nothinglike a Z06!! And no matter what you do to your coupe it won' be a Z and, blowers or no, you won't get a return on modifications.
Sounds to me like the dealer set the hook when he threw you the keys. He knew exactly what he was doing!
Life is short. You got a taste, so you probably won't be happy till you get it.
It is worth it!
